Photography Studio Gets Fresh New Website

Fresh Focus Photography (www.freshfocusphotography.net) is a family photography business operating out of Vassar, Michigan. They specialize in on-location shoots for High School Senior and Family portraits. Fresh Focus is owned and operated by Brad and Kim Jenks. Brad has worked as a photojournalist in local television news for over 20 years and Kim is known for her creative flair at her workplace of over 14 years. Together their talents compliment one another to make a great team.

Fresh Focus Photography senior portrait sessions are both on-location and in-studio to accommodate every senior’s needs including yearbook portraits. Fresh Focus Photography completes most senior portraits on location, utilizing portable backdrops that can be taken right to the location shoot - a studio is available for accommodating inside shoots and yearbook portraits. Most family portraits emphasize outside poses surrounded by nature rather than a studio setting. Unlike other photography businesses, Fresh Focus Photography allows clients to build their own portrait packages with the sizes and quantity of photos they want at a reasonable price. SAMSA provided web site design and development for the new Fresh Focus Photography website. The site sports a fresh look and unique features such as customer specials and a private login area for clients to view their portrait session. SAMSA Programmer Ben Murphy provided custom programming in conjunction with a robust photo gallery that serves as a communication point between the photography studio and clients. Fresh Focus was in need of a password protected photo album feature for their customers. These albums contain watermarked, web quality proofs of their orders.

Murphy explains, "The client wanted a gallery where an administrator could manage users and create galleries for those users. We used a combination of open source and custom-developed PHP and MySQL solutions. Another unique feature on the site is a rotating album of thumbnails found on the homepage, which was a challenge but well worth the effort. Murphy states, "This has been a fun project. I was able to experiment with the new techniques and provide added functionality to an already extensive framework." SAMSA currently provides web hosting and database administration for Fresh Focus Photography.
