SAMSA Strives to Stay atop the Latest Technology

On Tuesday, August 1, 2006, SAMSA added RAM (Random Access Memory) to their UNIX server. This doubling of memory ensures the greatest success in keeping client websites running at top notch performance. There are currently 100-150 customer websites running on the server.

In the near future, SAMSA will be purchasing a different server to replace its present UNIX one. The new server will be roughly twice as powerful as the present one. It will also have nearly triple the amount of storage space.

What does this mean for clients? In general, more capacity will be able to be devoted to client websites. With the extra space, SAMSA will be able to upgrade a majority of software to their newest versions that tout more capabilities. The implementation of the new web server is planned to take place within the next two months.
